Situation

As a major global player in the Onshore/Offshore Oil & Gas Industry, there was an immediate requirement to provide Project Controls support to ongoing UK operations in Glasgow and Aberdeen. Placements for key personnel in the Planning, Cost and Estimating functions by APC, helped faciliatate and enhance the established teams in these areas by :-

• Providing experienced Oil & Gas personnel
• Giving flexibility in being office / site based as required

Systems	Integration of Primavera functionality with established WGE cost / estimating software

Success Factors

The main areas benefiting from the support from APC were as follows:

Lessons Learned

Making a smooth transition and dovetailing with established Wood Group practices, was key to the success of the APC personnel deployment. Bringing strong Project Controls principles into the organisation was seen as a great benefit to the ongoing workings within Wood Group, and were soon regarded as an integral part of the team, and organisation as a whole

Site based personnel gave a direct communications link to the Project Management staff and subcontractors. Having a permanent presence, ensured stronger team links / dynamics in the day to day running of the projects
